Acton Locals Sought For Leisure Centre Show

Dante or Die, a touring theatre company, will be staging their 80’s inspired show Take On Me and offering Acton locals the opportunity to bring out their inner star.

Everyone Active Acton Centre, run in partnership with Ealing Council, will be hosting the company in the first week of December, offering the chance for locals to hear more about the opportunity to take part. The performances will take place at the centre in the new year.

The show will provide an intimate insight into the goings on at a local leisure centre. The company will be touring around leisure centres in Dorset, Norfolk, Kent, Salford, London and Reading from 2018 - 2019. At each location, there will be a different Guest Cast of local people, playing a variety of parts including aerobics class members, the Karate Kid and a poolside choir.

Dante or Die will run an extensive  programme of outreach and engagement over 3 weeks at the Everyone Active Acton centre, beginning with a week of open workshops from the 4th – 9th December 2018.Individuals can chat to the team, find out more and sign up to be part of the show in the new year. The company are inviting anyone interested to come and have a cup of tea and find out more, at Everyone Active Acton Centre on Saturday 8 December from 2 – 4pm.

During the December week, there will be movement, theatre and singing workshops; the company are looking for anyone over 16, with no performance experience required. There are voluntary roles to suit everyone; for different levels of availability, age ranges and interests. 

The final production will take place from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 February at the Acton Centre. Family, friends and locals are all invited to come and cheer on the cast.
