A recycling scheme aimed at increasing our green credentials is now donating reward points to a local Acton worthy cause.

Households who sign-up to the Greenredeem initiative can earn points for saying they are recycling and embarking on other everyday green actions.

The points can then be exchanged for money off vouchers or other discounts.

Some local residents were unhappy that there was no facility to be more charitable and donate accrued points within W3.

Now the company which operates Green Redeem has listened to concerns and the South Acton Imagination Library (SAIL) is to be the first organisation in Acton to be involved.

SAIL is a book gifting scheme inspired by singer Dolly Parton's idea and aims 'to improve literacy, life chances and family relationships in South Acton, by arranging for a new book every month to be delivered free of charge to kids born from 2013 onwards, up to their fifth birthday.''

If you do have points to donate  you can do so here:

200 points can be exchanged for £1, with the aim to raise £1000.
