Elderly Woman Killed in Road Accident

84-year-old hit by motorbike on Friday evening

An elderly woman has died after being knocked down by a motorbike in The Vale.

Officers were called at approx 1910hrs on Friday, 20 September to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a motorcycle near the junction with Centre Avenue, W3.

London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and the pedestrian, a woman aged 84, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2010hrs.

Next of kin have been informed but formal identification awaits.

A post mortem will be scheduled in due course.

At this early stage it is believed the collision occurred as the deceased was crossing the road. The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged 43, stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit investigate.
