Re'Store, W3 is launching soon in Acton. It is to become a circular economy hub to be used for restoring, repairing and reselling clothing and household goods.

W3 Hive CIC won GLA funding for the ReStore concept, which intends to open a shop on Churchfield Road, W3 where it will host pop ups and workshops.

Ealing Council are offering the use of the shop at number 98 Churchfield Road on a peppercorn rent. Contracts are currently being drawn up and the shop is expected to open sometime in November.

The space will also be used to pilot a Re-School of Entrepreneurship to teach the principles of building a business through circular economy concepts. One of the first projects to be launched will be a community owned jewellery brand - individuals can sign up to take part in the process to learn how to build a brand from scratch.

Founder Kal Di Poala says, ‘We want to create an innovative space to inspire local people to repurpose and repair old things into something new. Waste will be our raw material. We will develop ideas where local people can come together to teach, learn, earn and collaborate.

“New ideas will be launched. Entrepreneurship will be encouraged. Collaborations will be created. This is a space that’s open to all and we will encourage the local community to take part in pop ups, events, and up-cycling and repurposing projects.”

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
