Blaze At Lexden Road Flats

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a fire in a 22 storey block of flats on Lexden Road in Acton, earlier this morning.

A communal lobby on 15th floor was partly damaged by fire. Nine people left the building before the Brigade arrived, four were treated for breathing problems by London Ambulance service.

The Brigade was called at 0821 and the fire was under control at 0917. Fire crews from Acton, Ealing and Chiswick stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
