Poundland have confirmed that they plan to open their new store in Acton on 31 October.

The shop next to Wilko in the Oaks Shopping Centre will begin trading on Halloween.

Clothing retailer PEP&CO will be part of the store which will also include Poundland's new chilled and frozen food ranges which have so far been rolled out to about 70 stores in the UK.

The store is at Unit 4C in the centre which opened on Acton High Street last year.

The 8,000 square feet branch will employ 20 people.

It will stock a wide of variety of items including groceries, household goods, health and beauty, as well as PEP&CO family fashion and the new PEP&CO Home range which was launched last month.

Austin Cooke, Poundland retail director, said, “We’re delighted to be part of this fantastic new shopping centre in the heart of Acton and are looking forward to playing our part in the high street’s regeneration.

“We’re sure shoppers in Acton are going to love the choice and amazing value that Poundland brings, from everyday groceries and health and beauty through to our PEP&CO clothing and homeware, as well as chilled and frozen food.”

Poundland says the new Acton store will operate to the highest standards of safety with barrier screens at manned checkouts and thorough and regular cleaning regimes applied across the day.
