An 11-year-old boy from Acton will be running an extraordinary race this Sunday to raise funds for a local charity.

Jacquan Tobin - known as Junior - was born with lower limbs which did not develop and at 9 months old following advice from the doctors the legs were removed.

He attends John Chilton Special School and in September, will move into the secondary part of the school.

Friends and family say Junior has never let his disability get in the way of him trying new things. He plays football for a local disabled team, and recently won most enthusiastic player.

On Sunday September 4th the keen Liverpool fan, whose favorite player is Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino, will run 1km at Parallel London around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.

He's running the 1k race for Descendants, a small charity based in Acton, which was established in 1993 is and is celebrating 23 years of working with the local community. He will be supported by his older brother, Jermaine Tobin who will be there with his wheelchair as back up.
