A teenager caught in Acton with a 10 inch knife was jailed the day after being arrested.

Ibrahim Ibrahim, aged 18, of Wilkinson Way was spotted by plain clothes officers from Operation Wolverine who were on foot patrol in Acton on Wednesday 16 October.

Their attention was drawn to a Ibrahim who had been riding a moped in the area. They saw him park up and enter a local shop. The officers approached and spoke to Ibrahim as he was making a purchase inside. Their suspicions were raised and they conducted a search of both the rider and the moped and inside the vehicle they found a large Rambo styled knife.

Ibrahim was arrested and interviewed at Hounslow Police Station where he provided a no comment interview. He was charged and remanded to Ealing Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty to Possession of an Offensive Weapon.

The following day Ibrahim was sentenced at Ealing Magistrates Court to 18 weeks imprisonment, ordered to pay £207 in fines and costs and the knife to be destroyed.

Inspector Thompson of Operation Wolverine said, “I am extremely proud of my Wolverines & their achievements. We pulled out of the stops in order to interview & charge this individual and placed him before the courts the very next day. We attended the hearing in order to support the Crown Prosecution Service, who presented the case to the judiciary and secured a sentence which serves as reminder to those who carry knives; if you are caught by #OpWolverine we will do everything within out power to put you behind bars.”
