An Acton school girl has been picked out to play football in a national squad.

Sabrina Ragazzo, 14, who lives on East Acton Lane has been selected for the U16 Girls, Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) squad, after shining at a national development camp this summer.

The ISFA is affiliated to the Football Association and is responsible for developing and nurturing talent in football within the independent schools sector, giving talented youngsters the opportunity to play at the highest level.

Sabrina currently plays football competitively for Brentford 15’s academy where she dominates the left back position.

Sabrina a year 10 pupil at Westminster based Portland Place independent school said: ''It was fantastic to receive the news that I have been called up to represent the ISFA.

“I am now counting down the days until I meet with the squad at St George’s Park where I am really excited to use the outstanding facilities.

Headmaster Tim Cook said: “Everyone is remarkably proud of Sabrina’s selection, to represent the ISFA Girls National U16 squad, after being shortlisted from a talented pool of players.

“We fully the support the talented athlete in her quest to succeed in the sports industry, it is an honour to work with Sabrina who is a joy to watch.”
