A food charity that provides free nutritious meals for the community from produce which otherwise would have gone to landfill is hoping to set up in Acton.

Foodcycle started in 2009 with the aim to 'unite and nourish communities using surplus food'.

There are now projects run by volunteers throughout the country and organisers are hoping that Acton will be the next venue.

Matt Fazal is FoodCycle's London manager and is appealing to members of Acton W3.

He says: '' We are now looking for a community space in Acton, whatever that may be (community centre, school, place of worship), that can host us. The space would need to have a decent sized kitchen and serving space, be available to us at little or (ideally) no cost, be available to us on the same day and time once a week.''
