Harrison was left in a cardboard box

A 12-week-old puppy named Harrison, who was found dumped at the side of a road is heading off to a new home in Acton after being found dumped in a cardboard box.

The Terrier Cross was in a terrible state when a good Samaritan brought him in to the Dogs Trust West London’s rehoming centre back in October after finding him by a roadside. Upon inspection, the charity’s vet team realised he had a broken leg and an aural haematoma (a blood blister) within the flap of his right ear. Staff immediately set to work nursing Harrison to full health and he was placed into foster care as part of the charity’s Home From Home fostering scheme. After plenty of TLC, he began to regain his strength and grow in confidence.

The rehoming centre is delighted that Harrison is ready to head to his forever home in time for Christmas with his special someone; retired John Allum from Acton.

Dogs Trust West London’s Rehoming Centre Manager Richard Moore said: “Poor Harrison was in a bad way when he was brought into us. Thanks to our dedicated vet staff and wonderful foster carers this little man is now back on his paws and ready to spend his first Christmas with John. We couldn’t be happier for them both and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!”

John added: “Despite all that he has been through, he’s such a happy, playful little chap with the loveliest personality.

“I cannot wait to get him home and shower him with the love and care he deserves.”
