British Transport Police officers are releasing an image of a man they wish to speak to after a woman was assaulted at Acton rail station.

The incident happened on Saturday, 7 August, at 9.03pm.

A 38-year-old woman from Acton was at the top of the stairs at the station and was about to make her way down to the platforms when she felt a strong shove against her shoulder.

She confronted a man about his aggressive behaviour and after a brief verbal exchange, the man hit the woman across the face, promoting another woman to come to the aid of the victim.

Investigating officer PC Eric Anang said: “Everyone has the right to travel without fear of violence or intimidation.
“I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may hold vital information or may have witnessed the incident. I urge him, or anyone who may know him, to come forward.”

Anyone with any information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference E-SUB/B6 of 15/10/15.
