10-Year-Old Boy Dies in 'Tragic Accident' at North Acton Station

Police say the child hurt himself after falling onto the tracks and couldn't be revived

A 10-year old boy has died following what police described as a ''tragic accident'' at North Acton station.

It has been reported that on Thursday 2 April the boy had run from his house which was close to the station and fallen onto the tracks, hitting his head. The air ambulance and a response team were called but couldn't save him.

A British Transport spokesperson said, "British Transport Police were called at 10.11am on 02/04 to North Acton station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.Officers from BTP and the Metropolitan Police attended however, tragically, a 10-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The force offers its deepest condolences to the family during this incredibly difficult time and we have specially trained officers with them, providing them with support. “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and is being regarded as a tragic accident.

'"Officers continue to investigate the incident and will be preparing a file in due course to present to the coroner.”
